Rivet‑welding processing is a comprehensive and widely‑adopted metal‑fabrication technology. It combines riveting and welding procedures to assemble scattered metal parts into finished workpieces through plate cutting, bending, assembly, rivet fastening and welding forming. It is extensively used for steel‑structure frames, equipment bases, engineering‑machinery components, storage tanks, mining‑equipment accessories and other products. The processing quality directly determines the load‑bearing performance, service life and safety factor of components. Full‑process workflow management and quality inspection are therefore essential.
Riveting and welding serve different functions with distinct process characteristics. Riveting fastens components together with rivets, delivering firm joints and excellent shock resistance while facilitating later maintenance and disassembly. Welding creates permanent joints by melting base metal and filler material at high temperature, offering superior sealing performance and high overall rigidity. In actual production, the two techniques are often used in combination. Riveting first locates and fixes workpieces to reduce welding deformation, followed by welding reinforcement to improve the overall strength of components.

The complete rivet‑welding workflow covers five stages: blanking, forming and assembly, riveting, welding and post‑treatment. First, plates are cut and bent according to drawing dimensions. Workpieces are then assembled and aligned for precise dimension calibration and weld‑joint fitting. Riveting is carried out to lock workpiece positions and prevent displacement during welding. Welding is then performed with properly‑set process parameters. Finally, slag removal, rust‑proof grinding and deformation correction are completed. Selected workpieces require non‑destructive flaw detection and anti‑corrosion coating.
Quality control stands at the heart of rivet‑welding processing. Raw‑material certificates must be checked on‑arrival to reject sub‑standard plates. Dimensions and alignment tolerances are strictly verified during assembly to avoid misalignment and excessive joint gaps. Welding‑current and travel‑speed parameters are well‑controlled to minimize defects including blowholes, slag inclusions, cracks and deformation. Final‑stage inspections cover weld appearance, dimensional accuracy and welding strength. Load‑bearing components of high importance shall undergo non‑destructive testing. Strict full‑process supervision yields high‑precision, reliable rivet‑welded products that satisfy application requirements from machinery and steel‑structure industries.
