Here are some precautions for riveting and welding processing:
I. Precautions for riveting processing
Rivet selection
Select rivets of appropriate specifications and materials according to the properties, thickness, and stress requirements of the connected materials. For example, for the connection of high-strength materials, high-strength rivets should be selected; for occasions with anti-corrosion requirements, stainless steel rivets can be chosen.
Ensure the reliable quality of rivets and avoid using defective rivets such as those with cracks or deformations.
Hole processing
The size and precision of riveting holes should meet the design requirements. A too-small hole diameter will make it difficult to insert the rivet, while a too-large hole diameter will affect the connection strength.
The surface quality of the hole should be good, without burrs, oil stains, or other impurities to avoid affecting the installation and connection quality of the rivet.
Riveting operation
Ensure the coaxiality of the rivet and the hole during riveting to avoid skewing of the rivet. Special riveting tools or fixtures can be used to ensure installation accuracy.
Control the magnitude of the riveting force. Insufficient force may lead to an insecure rivet connection, while excessive force may cause excessive deformation of the rivet or damage to the connected materials.
For riveting multiple layers of materials, pay attention to the fit between each layer of material to avoid gaps or misalignments.
Anti-corrosion treatment
If the connected materials require anti-corrosion treatment, corresponding anti-corrosion measures such as painting or galvanizing should be taken in a timely manner after riveting.

II. Precautions for welding processing
Welding material selection
Select appropriate welding materials such as electrodes, welding wires, and fluxes according to the types, thicknesses, and usage requirements of the materials to be welded.
Ensure the qualified quality of welding materials and that the storage conditions meet the requirements. Avoid using expired or damp welding materials.
Welding process parameters
Reasonably set welding process parameters such as welding current, voltage, and welding speed. Improper parameter selection may lead to welding defects such as incomplete penetration, pores, and cracks.
Conduct welding process tests according to different welding methods and materials to determine the optimal combination of process parameters.
Pre-welding preparation
Clean the surface of the materials to be welded to remove impurities such as oil stains, rust, and oxide scale to ensure welding quality.
For important welded structures, preheating treatment should be carried out before welding to reduce welding stress and prevent crack generation.
Welding operation
Welding operators should possess corresponding qualifications and skills and strictly operate in accordance with the welding process specifications.
Control the welding sequence to avoid welding deformation. For large structures, methods such as segmented welding and symmetrical welding can be used to reduce deformation.
Pay attention to the use of shielding gas or flux during welding to ensure good protection of the welding area.
Post-welding inspection
After welding is completed, strict inspections should be carried out, including visual inspection, non-destructive testing (such as radiographic inspection, ultrasonic inspection, etc.), and mechanical property testing.
Welding defects found should be repaired in a timely manner, and inspections should be conducted again after repair to ensure that the welding quality meets the requirements.
In conclusion, when performing riveting and welding processing, relevant operating procedures and precautions should be strictly observed to ensure processing quality and safety. At the same time, continuously improving the technical level and quality consciousness of operators is also an important factor in ensuring the quality of riveting and welding processing.
